The arc
From NYC magazines to NJ campuses.
The work started in NYC, taking magazine assignments. By mid-career it was running in Sports Illustrated and Parents Magazine. [JJ to write: early-career origin story.]
When the New Jersey Pride became the state's first professional lacrosse team, JJ was their team photographer. He stayed for the full run of the franchise: sidelines, locker room, championship weekends. [JJ to write: NJ Pride years + how it set up the schools work.]
Today JJQ Photography runs four standing school contracts, an annual gala season, and a steady portrait practice across NJ and the NYC metro. Same name on the file every year. [JJ to write: current chapter and why the practice stays sole-proprietor.]

How I work
Five rules I work by.
Twenty years of practice. Five things that don't change.
- Show up
- Early, prepared, with backup gear.
- Stay quiet
- Documentary discipline. The camera doesn't direct the scene; it follows it.
- Edit honestly
- Color and exposure. Basic skin retouching, never the heavy compositing kind.
- Deliver fast
- Standard turnaround is one week. Rush available for time-sensitive games and events.
- Own your files
- Every image is yours at full resolution, no watermarks. Print whatever you want.
